CLINICAL
ASSESSMENTS
Overview
MHM can provide individual clinical assessments
at any of our clinic locations. Where more than one employee
needs to be assessed, this can be conducted at your place of
work.
When it is not feasible for employees to be assessed
at either one of our clinics or your place of work, we will arrange
for the employee to be seen by one of our specialist occupational
physicians who would be selected on the basis of geographical
proximity to the employee’s home or workplace.
How
we differ from other providers
We take a proactive,
solution focussed approach when clinically assessing
employees. Rather than simply providing you with a specialist
opinion on an employee’s fitness, we also focus on the
actions required to return the employee back to work. This
approach includes:

determining what factors are contributing to
an employee’s inability to return to work; |

managing each case to ensure that the employee is receiving
appropriate and timely treatment; |
 |
 |
communicating with HR/line management to keep them updated
on the employee’s status; |
 |
 |
developing rehabilitation back to work programmes to return
employees to work earlier; |
 |
 |
monitoring the rehabilitation programme until the employee
is fit to return to their pre-illness/accident position or
is permanently deployed into another suitable position. |
In those cases where the employee will not be
fit to return to some form of work for the foreseeable future,
we can provide advice concerning the employee’s ability
to perform the job for which they were employed.
Mental
Health Assessments
We have particular expertise
in dealing with cases concerning mental well-being.
Much of the firm’s work centres around assessing and
assisting employees who suffer from mental ill-health such
as stress, depression and anxiety, and rehabilitating them
back to work.
